The Kardashians a modern day phenomenon in which “every day” people share their lives with the world (and get a lot o hate for it) were, so to speak along with all “reality” TV stars, a precursor to today’s influencers who also share their lives online. And for any influencer that gets big enough they too are going to have to deal with the haters.

The party frock,—that illustrious festive garment every well heeled fashionista has in her closet, has always held a special sense of glamour. From grand balls of centuries past, to the roaring twenties, to modern day cocktail parties—the party frock enables the wearer to transcend her ordinary life and feel special, emboldened, and dare I say like a star—even, if just for an evening. And the holidays are the time of the year to step out like a celeb. With its evening soirees, candlelit dinners and festive parties, it is the perfect excuse to buy something so not practical.

But also some cooler days. August has been unseasonably cooler than usual, and you can feel a bit of fall in the air. I can not believe it is literally two weeks away from NYFW.
